Before Accepting Credit Cards

Credit cards have now become a norm of the society. Now even the day to day transactions of our life can be done with the help of credit cards. If you  want to book your holidays or you are shopping in some complex or you want some booking in restaurant, you can do all these things with the help of credit cards. But before accepting credit cards you should take care of some things.

You should make it a point to have only one or two credit cards and should not over flow your wallet with credit cards. This can drew you in unmanageable debts and you can also find difficulty in taking financial decisions. Therefore you should avoid accepting too many credit cards.

You should take care of your spending even when you are using credit cards. It is because of the fact that credit cards companies are always in search of such individuals that make big balances and so are a good source of earning for them as interest.

Many credit card companies offer low interest rates to its customers for a limited period of time  but you should notice that once the offer period ends then the interest rates shoot up. Therefore you should take in to consideration only the permanent interest rates on the credit card and not the promotional rates of interest.

 It is not that only interest rate is important in the selection of credit card but you should also look for the grace period. Generally if you pay the balance amount with in the grace period then the interest rate is nil. Normally the grace period is 20 days. You should also try to understand the billing system of the credit cards. You should know in advance the grace period before applying for credit card.

You should try to understand all the terms and conditions of the credit card and should try to know the terms in case there is late payment and what will be the interest in such case. You should have taken care of all such things before accepting credit cards.
